Your AI Agent Can Drive Narrative

Your AI Agent Can Drive Narrative

Most data infrastructure has two front doors: a UI for humans and an API for code. That was enough, until AI agents entered the stack.

When your AI assistant needs to explore your datasets, kick off a query, or figure out which companies you have access to, it shouldn't have to wait for you to copy-paste outputs and relay instructions. It should just do it.

Today, that's possible. Narrative now ships a remote Model Context Protocol (MCP) server — and it changes how AI agents work with your data.

A third interface for Narrative

Think of MCP like USB for AI agents. Before USB, every peripheral needed its own adapter. After USB, one port, every device. MCP does the same thing for AI tools: any agent that speaks MCP can connect to any vendor that ships an MCP server — with no custom adapter per vendor, and no custom adapter per harness.

Narrative has always had a UI for humans and an API for code. The MCP server adds a third interface, built specifically for AI agents.

Connect Claude, Cursor, Windsurf, or any MCP-compatible assistant to https://mcp.narrative.io/mcp, and your agent can explore datasets, kick off NQL queries, refresh materialized views, and manage your Narrative account — all from a single conversation.

UI for humans. API for code. MCP for agents.

Anything you can do in Narrative, you can do through the MCP server — or you will be able to soon.

Getting started

Install is easy and secure.

If you're already using Claude, Cursor, Windsurf, or another MCP-compatible assistant, setup takes a few minutes. Point your client at the Narrative MCP server, authenticate once with your Narrative credentials, and you're in.

You can now control your Narrative account as if you were logged in to the UI or driving it through the API.

The bigger picture

This isn't a standalone feature. It's infrastructure.

The differentiator isn't the protocol. Every SaaS vendor will eventually ship an MCP server. What matters is what it connects to: your Narrative account, your data, across your data planes.

Many of our recent releases are about making every component of a modern data and AI stack composable: data, skills, connectors, providers, packages, workflows. The MCP server is what lets AI agents participate in that stack rather than simply observe it.

Normalize once. Collaborate anywhere. That now includes the agents doing the work.

Available now

The Narrative MCP server is generally available today. Connect your AI assistant and get started.
